This is Tina and today is her Birthday. She's "29" and my best friend. It took us a long time to get together, and now if we lived closer I'm sure we'd be together just about everyday. As it is we talk on the phone just about everyday or every other day at the least. It fills kind of strange when we get busy and go more than a couple of days without talking to each other. We share a lot of the same likes and dislikes and really have a good time together. So happy Birthday big sis. I love you. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Tina, Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!
1961 Grandpa Edwin Martin at his 20 year Class reunion he is the very happy one on the left of the sign down front. He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1941.
Harold, Helen, Myrtle, Annie, Edwin with GGrandpa & GGrandma Martin when GGrandpa was in the hospital. I really like this picture except that GGrandpa is so thin and not the robust figure he is in most of the pictures I have of him.
Grandpa loved to work with wood, in fact he had his own work shop.
This is him working making what looks like a desk. I wonder if the desk he's working on is the one in the picture. While I was in Utah Aunt Linda gave me a jewelry box that he had made with his own two hands. It is such a treasure to me. I guess I remember him smelling like sawdust all the time. Maybe thats why every time I go to my sister's and pass by the huge piles of sawdust, I love the smell. Well just a thought. But it's true I do love the smell of sawdust.
Grandpa always had a garden, he must have love to grow things, a gift that continued over the years. I guess this is another thing that skips a generation or two. I kill just about any thing I try to grow.
this is my Mom. I think she was adorable and she looks just the same as my girls do. In some of the pictures you can see my two youngest girls, they all make some of the same faces.
I love this picture not only because his so handsome but also the message he wrote on his chest is so sweet. He love Grandma very much. I have been learning things about Grandpa, all good of course.
Monster tape. At Young Womens last night Sarai taught the other girls how to make wallets out of candy wrapers. When she asked her dad last night for some more clear tape this was the only roll he could find and there were three of these in the box. I just think it's so cool. She told the other girls that she didn't think they needed to worry about running out of tape. Funny huh.
My big brother who died at the age of 30, on a fishing boat in Yakina Bay, Oregon. He would have been 45 years yesterday. When I went to his Memorial Service after his death I learned something about him I didn't know before. Bishop Kerr spoke and said that Mike had come to him about a month before his death and talked about his knowlege and his faith. He told Bishop Kerr that he knew the Gospel was true and that Jesus was his savior but that he didn't know how to find it all again. He felt his life had spun so far out of control that it was to late for him to come back. When I heard those words I knew that everything was ok and that so would he be. The song that was sung at her service was. "I Know that My Redeamer Lives" and now when ever I hear it or sing it on sunday my mind again wonders back to my big brother and I miss him all over again. Mike was a wonderful big brother, although he use to love to hold us down and tap on our foreheads over and over again. Yea fun for us too. Not.
A safty company took picture of Grandpa Martin useing equipment to demenstrate safty with a varitey of tools, I just think he was having way to much fun with this. I like to see this side of him.
Raymond, William Henry & Clair Martin Raymond is my grandfather, and William is his father. Clair is Raymonds brother. It's kind of cool to have an Uncle Clair.
This is Aunt Marcie I haven't seen her since I was little the picture in the red and flowered shirts are the way I remember her the third is about 2001 with her husband Sam.
At Holly's baby shower, the first to drink the most water wins. Sarai didn't win. too bad. We only know two of the girls with Sarai. Nicky klock in the brown shirt and the on in the green shirt next to Sarai is Marilee Kartchner Nicky's sister and the sister-in-law of the soon to be mommy.
Activity Day Recongonition Night Displaying things they've worked on or made. Gillian wasn't there in person she was busy with something else but we can't remember what.
This is Adam Alvarez. We have know him for along time and love him so much. At one time he was our home teacher. He will be heading to Kentucky next week. Adam works with morters he likes to blow things up.
This is Adam & Kate married about 6 months. but haven't got to spend very much time together as a married couple yet.
7th wards annuel potluck at Vancouver Lake. The Bishopric and Loren Lindquist competed in the Frozen Tee shirt contest. Steve Ard won but only after getting his shirt away from Loren Lindquist who took it ran. at which time a pack of primary kids took off after him trying hard to tackle him.
In order to put on their shirt they first had to unfold it. It was frozen solid. Steve's threw it over and over again onto the ground until he knocked it lose.
we had this taken just a few days before Sean left for college. I like this so much. The person who took the pictures is in our Bishopric and working on doing this for a living. I think he does a good job.
