This is my family without our son of course. We are at PDX picking up Denise Reiner the blond. She is living with us for the school year. Denise is from Germany and her cousin is a friend of ours from church. She is a sweet girl who so far doesn't eat much. Taken Sept. 2, 2009. We went out to lunch after picking her up it was nice.
Sean met with the Stake President today. His mission papers are on their way to Salt Lake City, Utah. It will be about two or three weeks now before we hear where in the world he will be serving the Lord as a missionary. Where do you think he will go?
My husband baught this and a mans one (high-boy) for $30.00 from a man from his work. It took several days to get the bookself and all the stuff on it moved from this spot so I can put up my new dresser. I love it.
These are my latest treasures I got in the mail from my Auntie in Utah. She was packing up her house to move and put these things in the mail for me. The little trees come apart into seperat peases. The other picture is a tiny saw. cool huh. I love so much getting bits and pieces of my family history in the mail sometimes it gets me very excited I mean it truely. I also got pages of his original poems some of which are in his own handwriting. Cool huh.
All the youth at church are given 3 weeks to come up with, practice, and preform a skit. The theme was. "Be an example unto the believers" Our kids did such a good job. They did a take off of West Side Story and called it West Stake Story. It was fun. They preformed it twice in one night in two buildings. Hence the name Roadshow. I was worried at first that it wouldn't come together but it did and was great. My girls were wonderful. And Sean was asked to step in for another boy Thursday night and the preformance was Friday night. He's actully to old for this now. The youth do Roadshow about every 6 years and its a blast when they get to do it. It was fun to be a part of. I was incharge of the scenes (Props) Fun stuff.
Ok so these are the latest pictures I got. the oldest girl in both is my mother and the little blond is her younger sister my Aunt Donna, who by the way still has that same color of hair. the woman is Donna's mother Lee and my Grandpa Edwin Martin. It looks like they were taking a trip somewhere huh. Mom doesn't look to happy in the first pic. I noticed.
Ok so this is me in Augest of 2008 with my Auntie and this is me today. do you see a difference. Size wise, i mean. I've lost 18 lbs in the last two months, can you tell?
I just found this picture again. It was taken in Aug. 2001. Alex and I got to ride the river paddle boat the Portland Spirit. He had been with Panasonic for 10 years and this was where they had their 10 year dinner. It was so cool we even got to drive the boat.
Spirit Week! Crazy Hair Day 2009 This is my Gillian she is 12 and had been sick for three days but realy wanted to be well enough to go to school for this day. She went to school with the rags still in half her hair. Cute huh. She still had a little curl after her shower that night. Her hair hold the curl well. Yea her.
Me and my friends on DJ's birthday. We had a little party for her at my house. It was fun. DJ is of course the princess in the middle and Kate is next to her. We had fun.
So I have gotten into family history lately and just finished typing up my grandmother personal history. Although is was just a chunk of her life, but it was a fun part. I discovered that she quit school just shy of her senior year to marry my Grandfather. But she tried to go back later and get it. Grandpa was drafted and she had to follow by bus. What an amazing time they lived in and what an amzing life to read about. I'd like to be there in the past and record all that I witnessed of there lives first hand. Wow! Family history can be such an adventure. Discover something new about someone in your family and have fun doing it.
